ABOUT
Niki South, born and grew up in England, later found a yearning to live as her ancestors once did in Wales, and transitioned to a dual centre life between the two places. She followed the 'hiraeth', and is now based full time in Pembrokeshire.
She has a particular interest in community, and uses landscape and documentary photography as mediums for expressing her observations and reflections on them.
Her photography combines the world within her head, with the one in front of her; shaped by 'affect' as opposed to 'effect’, reality. She uses images as mirrors for expression, creating images that are metaphors for something beyond the subject photographed.
